What Is Hoodia?
Herbs Medicine:
Hoodia Gordonii could very well be the next "Weight Watchers" of the world, but without the need to attend the classes and have a diet coach. It is a cactus-like plant and acts a natural appetite suppressant, but, it's not a new "fad" diet plan. Diet pills are manufactured from the plant, which can be found in the Kalahari Desert in South Africa and has actually been around for centuries.
The plant is not new and neither is it a new weight loss invention, such as other weight loss programs like The South Beach Diet and Weight Watchers. The Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert have been using the plant for centuries to ward off hunger and loss of energy during their long hunting trips through the desert. The one molecule that is found in the plant, called P57, is known to control and suppress appetite. It is a dream comes true of many people who have been wishing for a true weight loss program. To lose weight you have to look no further than the natural abilities of this wonder plant.
The pigment in the plant trickles the part of your brain which controls appetite making you believe that you've just eaten and are full. It also helps in controlling those urges you have throughout the day to snack when you don't really need to. The results may not be instantaneous though. For Hoodia to work, it may actually take a couple of weeks for the results to show. It all depends on how long it takes for this part of the brain, the hypothalamus, to rewire its thought processes to rethink hunger pangs. The herb has been known to work on reducing the interest that you have for food when it is not a period in the day that you really shouldn't be hungry, then, it helps to delay the time gap between one meal and the next. It will work to make you feel full, leading to a general feeling of euphoria in your overall well-being.
You may wonder if there are any possible side effects to taking Hoodia Gordonii. As it is completely natural and not a stimulant, it will never have any side effects but, there is always a possibility of someone being allergic to the plant. Always, as with any prescription, or non-prescription, drug used for weight loss, you should consult your doctor immediately so that they are aware of any possible complications. A normal regimen for the average person taking these diet pills is to take 1 to 2 capsules an hour before lunch and dinner each day for the first two weeks. Once the suppressant components of Hoodia pills take effect, most people decide to cut back to 1 or 2 capsules per day.
This is not a quick fix miracle fat buster and in no way should this type of diet regimen be taken lightly. A Hoodia pill simply cannot be taken every day and then you eat in the similar fashion as you are currently and still expect to lose weight. Any company that describes your weight loss needs in that sense, need to be investigated thoroughly on their claims.
